Hourly Pay Calculator
Put your hourly rate in first, followed by the times you clock in and out, to get the gross pay for that week.
How hourly pay is calculated
For each day we total the minutes you work, change them to decimal hours once, then apply your rate. Any time over 40 hours in a week is paid at 1.5 times your rate, and you can change that or turn it off under Options. That figure is gross pay, before taxes and deductions.
Pay uses decimal hours, not the clock digits
Work of 7 hours and 45 minutes counts as 7.75 hours, rather than 7.45. With a rate of $18.00 an hour, the math is 7.75 × $18.00 = $139.50. Treat the clock digits as 7.45 and the pay comes to $134.10, short by $5.40 for one day and $27.00 for a five-day week.
Check a single conversion with the decimal hours calculator. If the week's total is already known, the overtime pay calculator uses that number.
Hourly pay calculator FAQ
How do I work out pay for hours and minutes?
First, divide the minutes by 60 to turn them into part of an hour. 8 hours and 15 minutes comes to 8.25 hours, so the pay at $20.00 an hour is $165.00.
Is this my take-home pay?
No. What you see here is gross pay. Afterward, taxes and deductions are taken off. Leave the rate out at the start and the same card becomes the time card calculator.
